Anotace
The presented doctoral thesis, submitted in the form of a commented, thematically ordered collection of original scientific articles supported by theoretical background, is focused on the preparation of multiscale hierarchical ZnO-based composite systems. Several preparation techniques, including bottom-up as well as topdown methods were employed throughout the work aiming the synthesis of various nanocrystalline ZnO powders that demonstrated the application potential in diverse fields. In the first study, antibacterial ZnO filler was synthesized by solvothermal microwave assisted process to obtain nanostructured hierarchical raspberry-like sub-micro particles. Their application potential was successfully confirmed with the preparation of an antibacterial composite made by mixing the prepared ZnO particles with medical-grage, softened poly(vinyl chloride) matrix, and with a final evaluation of the surface antibacterial properties.
