Anotace
The study text presents the theoretical background of the approach to supporting the visually impaired in the Czech Republic, which is further developed into chapters describing the classification and specifics of the respective categories of the visually impaired, the diagnostic procedures and the comprehensive provision of services for the visually impaired individuals. The text presents the approaches to a family with a visually impaired child, the role of early care and the system of education for the visually impaired pupils, covering the period from preschool up to university education, including the specifics resulting from the various degrees of visually impairment. The final part addresses the study field of typhlo-andragogy.
