Anotace
Description of the brown coal mine in the archbishopric estate of Světec (Beschreibung des erzbischöflichen Schwatzer Herrschaft Steinkohlenbruchs). A photocopy of manuscript, written in Old German cursive script (Kurrentschrift) in 18th century was found in the repository of the Archive of Czech Geological Survey. The document describes mining and use of brown coal in a small mine of Světec (Schwarz) in 1766. Not very extensive document was written by an unknown clerk – Johan Philips Habel. What has to be appreciated is the author's talent for observation, with which he presents not just the mine of Světec, but also the whole area of Krušné Hory. It describes coal mining and problems it had to face in the middle of 18th century. The publication presents complete translation of the text not only to contemporary German and but also to English.
